About Us
Founded by Milton Academy student Celina Wang in 2023, the OptiHealth Initiative is a youth-led nonprofit committed to making eye health education accessible and actionable. We turn our mission into impact through hands-on programming and community partnerships. Including distributing UV-protective eyewear free of charge, our team focuses on practical, accessible ways to promote eye health. Every initiative is designed to meet people where they are and give them tools they can use right away.
Our mission is to champion eye health through awareness, education, and advocacy. We are dedicated to providing essential information and resources to individuals and communities, empowering them to take proactive steps in preserving their vision. We believe that every person deserves clear vision and the opportunity to live a full, healthy life. Together, we strive to enhance awareness, prevent vision loss, and support those affected by eye conditions, ensuring that vision health becomes a priority for all.

Celina Wang
Founder & President
Celina is a junior at Milton Academy whose own journey with uveitis, along with the influence of her late father, sparked her passion for eye health. With a love for STEM, she is a three-time AIME qualifier, USNCO qualifier, and Math Prize for Girls participant, who also leads Milton’s Math Club/Team as co-head. Outside the classroom and lab, Celina plays Varsity Golf and finds balance in writing and drawing. She also enjoys music, both listening and playing, and is a passionate fan of Formula One who rarely misses a race.
Additionally, Celina also collaborates with leading ophthalmologists and researchers at Massachusetts Eye Research and Surgery Institution, Mass Eye and Ear, and the Harvard Ophthalmology AI Lab. Her research and work at the intersection of machine learning and ophthalmology focuses on improving patient diagnosis and outcomes. Celina hopes to make a meaningful impact in the wonderful field of ophthalmology.
